Pair of Gothic Revival Bronze Roman Warrior Bookends

$399.00

An outstanding pair of Gothic Revival Bronze Bookends depicting a pair of Roman Warriors. These are an extremely nice looking pair of bookends with each one being unique, each looking the opposite direction. Having a triple stepped base, the warriors or Roman knights with armor breastplate, stand within a doorway with Gothic elements within a steepled Gothic archway.

These are true bronze and not cast iron or composite as many that are found, and likely older than more common bookends, mid to late 19th century. There is no maker or foundry mark on either piece, but these are wonderfully detailed and add character to any setting.

Bookends measure 9.5" tall and 4.5" wide. In overall very good condition. For one of the bookends the warrior and archway are slightly loose on the base, but this is not problematic and the visual is the same on both pieces. The pair weighs a little over 5 pounds.
