An oil on panel painting by French artist, Ferdinand Roybet (1840-1920) depicting a full length standing musketeer in an Interior. The elegantly dressed 17th Century style soldier stands before a hanging oriental rug or weaving, holding his wheel-lock musket on his shoulder, his sword at his hip, and looking to his left, directly at the viewer. Behind the hanging is a table, red-upholstered chair and celarette on the floor.

The painting measures 21” x 18” and overall with the gilt frame measures 34” x 30”. The painting is in very good condition, but there is some slight areas of frame rubbing, most predominantly on the left side of the panel. The frame has had numerous repairs and has been repainted, but looks very good and is ready to hang.
