An oil on canvas painting by English artist Edgar Bundy (1862-1922) depicting a gentleman dressed in 17th Century clothing, sitting at a dinner table and napping. On the table sits a large beer jug and German Stoneware pouring jug and a plate of bread. The bread looks so realistic as if one could reach out and pick it up out of the painting. At the top of the wall above the scene is a transom window with leaded glass panes and beyond, a large building with a chimney, and a curtain partially closed. The artist was only 25 years old when he created this work and it shows his considerable talent.
