An oil on canvas painting by English artist, Edmund John Niemann (1813-1876), depicting Richmond Castle in Yorks, England. The castle in the far distance at the horizon, and in the foreground a rocky landscape and a stone wall with small opening. Two women are walking down the path, and another person is depicted farther down the road among the trees. A bridge traverses the river. Yellowish-pink colored clouds decorate the sky in this panoramic landscape by the artist. Richmond Castle was one of the artist’s favorite subjects, although the stone wall showing the depth of the painting seems to be unique to this composition. The painting is titled and signed by the artist. Presented in a gilt frame with name plate.

The painting measures 22” x 38” and overall with gilt frame measures 30 1/2” x 46”. The painting is in good condition and ready to hang.
