An oil on canvas painting in the original antique frame by Italian artist Alexis D’Ambrossi (19th/20th Century) depicting a cavalier in green with a wide brimmed hat, lace collar and sash. The model in the painting is clearly Italian, as was the artist, making this a bit different than the often seen French or Belgian style cavalier works. The subject stands before a column on one side and an impressionist landscape on the other. The painting is signed by the artist in the upper left corner.

The painting is in very good condition and was professionally cleaned and restored in 2017, as noted on the back (see last photo). The site area of the painting measures approximately 25” x 31.5” and the overall size including the frame measures approximately 30 3/4” x 37”. The gold areas on the frame have been repainted by the restorer.
