This is a beautiful village scene depicting what appears to be Wurttemburg, Germany with its old buildings and architecture. The really nice effect of the painting is the sunlight and shadows depicted as the sun streams across the buildings, and a man walks across the street with a walking stick. The painting is signed Paul Lorenz, but there does not seem to be any information listed about this artist. It is clearly an antique painting, likely 19th Century.

The painting is housed in an antique high gloss black frame. The canvas is slightly loose on the stretcher bars, but the looseness does not affect the image. There are some small dings in the frame, which do not detract too much from the frame.
