This large oil painting by Belgian artist, Alex de Andreis entitled ‘The Aristocratic Connoisseur’ on the nameplate depicts a wealthy and elegantly dressed gentleman of the 17th Century seated at a table covered by an Oriental rug, with a wheel lock musket and books laying on the table and holding an antique painting, admiring the work. This is a gorgeous painting by the artist, and the largest that we have encountered by this particular artist. The image measures approximately 31” x 38.5” and overall with the frame measures approximately 42” x 50.5”.

The painting is in very good condition with strong impasto brush strokes. Th frame as very small damages around the edges with some prior signs of repair, but looks fantastic and ready to display in as-is.
