Contemporary Artist Spotlight: Mustapha Denguezli

From time to time we may highlight select contemporary artists whose work reflects a strong dialogue with tradition, material, and cultural context.

Mustapha Denguezli is among Tunisia’s most accomplished contemporary painters, with a career spanning more than three decades. His work encompasses luminous watercolors, vibrant acrylics, and large-scale mural compositions that bridge historical reference and modern expression.

Denguezli’s paintings are distinguished by their sensitivity to Mediterranean light and atmosphere, often combining architectural memory, urban life, and symbolic narrative. In parallel with his studio practice, he has taught at leading art and design institutions, contributing to the development of contemporary artistic discourse in the region.

His work has been exhibited internationally, including in France, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Malta, and Dubai.

He also does custom work and accepts commissions.
